The purpose of the program is to make the University more accessible to those with financial difficulties by supplementing other funding resources such as government aid, Indigenous Band Support Funding, part-time labor, and parental support.

McGill’s Scholarships offers a merit-based Entrance Scholarship Program and a need-based Entrance Bursary Program for all newly accepted, first-year, first-degree undergraduate students.

Similarly, The Scholarships & Student Aid Office administers an In-Course Financial Aid Program that provides modest loans and/or bursaries to currently enrolled graduate students who require additional financial assistance.

The University of McGill is committed to supporting the academic endeavors of qualified, needy undergraduate students. The University’s Entrance Bursary Program provides entrance scholarships to students from low- to middle-income families who demonstrate financial need. All newly accepted, first-year, first-degree undergraduates and newly accepted, first-year undergraduates entering professional programs in Medicine or Law are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for McGill University Scholarships, candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

Language Requirement: English.
All global entities are eligible.
Enroll in a degree program at the University on a full-time basis.
Include the intention to apply for government student aid and/or Indigenous Band Support Funding as evidence of financial need.
Students who apply for and accept the maximum amount of available government student assistance for which they are eligible must be in good academic standing.

How to Apply:

Please follow the instructions below to apply for scholarships at McGill University:

To be eligible for the honor, applicants must enroll in an undergraduate or master’s degree program at the university.
International (non-US) students who intend to apply to the University’s Entrance Bursary Program must submit a CSS Profile along with their McGill Minerva aid application.
Students may petition for In-course Financial Aid whenever the need arises throughout the academic year. Each August, applications for the current academic year (September to August) are made available.
