Scholarship Coverage:
The Gran Sasso Science Institute Ph.D. Program provides the recipient with the following benefits:
- All Ph.D. students will have free accommodation in the guesthouse during the first year, after which they will be provided with a financial compensation of €350.00 gross/month (the allowance will be paid upon presentation of the rental agreement in L’Aquila)
- All Ph.D. students will have free meal vouchers (1 per day, working days, excluding school closures, missions, and other situations covered by GSSI rules)
- All doctoral students will have tuition waived
- All doctoral students will be covered by insurance in the event of an accident and/or injury that may occur in the course of their doctoral work.
- All Ph.D. students are entitled to a grant of up to €1,200.00 (net) for the purchase of a laptop for study and research purposes. The allowance will be paid upon presentation of the tax document sent to the applicant.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the Gran Sasso Science Institute Ph.D. program, a candidate must meet all of the following requirements:
- Required language: English. Knowledge of English is mandatory.
- Eligible countries: All countries of the world.
- Applications are open to applicants who hold one of the following degrees: – “Laurea Magistrale” or “Laurea Specialistica” or a four- or five-year degree. – foreign university education (minimum legal duration of university studies: four years).
- The eligibility of foreign degrees is assessed by the selection committee.
- Applicants will need to send a copy of their diploma to phd.secretariat@gssi.it.
